Intitute App

Using MS Power Apps, I created an app for my Institute which lists all the 700+ equipment in our labs, shows what they are and where they are stored. The app also allows any member of the Institute to book and borrow most of the equipment. I've also used MS Power Automate to add functionality like reminder email when the reservation starts or when it is time to give back any item. I've also created an input form using MS Forms and implemented a backup process where the database is saved every month on a Excel document.

Heating Web App

During a Swiss project name SCCER EIP, I've made a market research on industrial heating device trying to collect the maximum information in order to better compare each technologies. The database contains more than 300 devices. To better filter the database, I've learned Javascript and HTML and built a web app allowing to filter the data by technology, temperature, and power. I've also written short factsheet on heat pump, fuel cell, gas turbine, with a summary, examples, and a few properties. Another Institute helped by creating the solar & photovoltaic factsheet and fill up the database with theses two technologies.

Experimental Work - plasma

Although I love coding and measurement analysing, I've learned during my studies that I am not made to only do IT works. I could but I would forgot to eat and it would not be healthy :-p. That is the reason why I always look for jobs where there is a fair share of experimental work. It started with my Master's thesis at the EPFL on large area of plasma using helicon wave in order to deposit SiOx. I've developed the diagnostic rig using multiple Langmuir probe and a Matlab code to read and analyse the data. Then during my Ph.D at the University of Liverpool, I've developed atmospheric pressure plasma for PE-ALD (right hand side figure), and plasma jet for polymerisation

(left hand side figure).

Experimental Work - thermodynamic

Since 2015 I worked as a scientist at the Institute for  Energy Systems under the leadership of the very friendly and experienced Prof. Stefan Bertsch. The Institute belongs to the OST Eastern Switzerland University of Applied Sciences. My worked started by being part of the Swiss Government funded SCCER EIP Project which was mostly a theoretical research job. I then worked on a couple of experimental project such an InnoSuisse project helping a company designing a small as possible filtration solution to be fit inside a truck. I also worked on smaller project to help divers firms cooling their computer, LEDS, or others. I  also tested thermal properties for some mechanical heat exchangers.  I also work on a non-continuous complex project which required a high cooling capacity for a shorter amount of time and then no cooling capacity for a longer period. Each project required a good understanding of thermodynamics, a good ability to plan adequate design testing, a good knowledge on measurements, data acquisition software, and measurements analysis, and the ability to write concise and precise reports.

Publications

I published a couple of peer-review article & conferences proceedings as first author as well as presented at different international conferences. I am also a co-author on multiple peer-review articles, magazines, and studies. Writing publication has never been my main goals as a scientist, I do however, love designing poster and sharing my knowledge at conferences via presentation and discussions.
